Media coverage of the 2.6 challenge undertaken by Jimmy during lockdown to raise funds for charity in April 2020
Inspired by Captain Tom Moore back in April in the early days of lockdown Jimmy set himself the challenge of walking 26 laps around his house to raise money for The Steve Prescott Foundation and State of Mind Charities. This was no easy task given he had previously walked no more than a painful few minutes at a time.
Looking back we had no idea what that first phase of lockdown was going to look and feel like or how long it would last, in reality we have all been tested in many different ways and certainly needed our resilience to be on point throughout this period of our lives.
We’re now facing what looks and feels like a second phase of lockdown restrictions through winter and are constantly bombarded with what seems to be negative messages and outlooks so let’s question that and look at how we’ve developed our resilience and ability to move forwards albeit slowly at times in the same way Jimmy tackled the 2.6 challenge.
How can we find positivity ? If its true we learn from our mistakes or indeed we learn how to overcome adversity from difficult situations then we should all be more forearmed given the last several months.
Jimmy has lived through adversity for over 18 years and has had to constantly find solutions to difficult situations, his motivational story offers insight into true resilience
